Atlanta

Tomorrow after some hesitation over the weather , we'll be heading north, on Interstate 75, thru storm paralyzed Atlanta to visit  our friends Allan and Diane in  Tennessee. The Great Smoky N.P. is on  the agenda and then back to Gopherland...

  3. Hopefully Atlanta isn't as much of a mess as it has been recently. Be safe, careful and watch out for the idiots you'll be sharing the road with!

  6. The Great Smokies are lovely but not Gatlinburg...way too commercial for my taste.
Let us know if you get past Atlanta OK.

Safe traveling through there for you.
    Enjoy the Smoky Mountains.
I love them. They are my home away from home.

  15. Some would say that, being from Minnesota, you would not have a problem in Atlanta when 2 inches of snow fell there...but the icy roads, untreated, and all the trucks and inexperienced drivers on the roads made for a dangerous combination. So glad you're going through there after things improved. Hope your travels are safe and enjoyable all the way back home.

  16. Hope you have arrived at your destination safely with no winter mandated and unscheduled stops. Smokies winter scenery should be beautiful.

  17. You are a brave soul traveling this time of year.
    BE SAFE!
And remember, from Dover, Delaware south along the coast especially, we are NOT prepared for even one inch of snow or worse, ice.
