Despite being a Minnesotan and knowing of Krueger's literary reputation, I've never read his books. Perhaps I could start with this one.

We have always had medium to large dogs. We have recently switched to a toy poodle. Minnesota's ice and snow make walking the larger dogs both difficult and potentially dangerous. Never thought we'd get a small dog, but they are lots of fun!
