Lilies On Parade

Since our move into the woods, lilies have replaced roses as the prima donna of my flower gardens. Here are a few on parade. Starting with one of my favorites wild "Turks Cap Lilies."

If I was better organized all the domestic varieties would be known by name. I'm not so when I talk to them its usually just to say, "how ya doing gorgeous!"

These gems make wonderful bouquets.

Lilies On Parade. I love them.

  1. Lovely lilies and great photos. I do love them in the garden. They stay in bloom for such a nice long time.

  2. Your lilies are beautiful. I don't know but one of them by name. 4th from the top is "Lolipop". They are all so good, it is hard to pick. But I think the last one is the best.

  3. Wow, great lilly pics. We have a few day lillies in the yard here in Montana, but lillies generally only a bloom a few days and just don't grow here the way they did "back home" in NW Pennsylvania and central NY. Had a great Aunt that cultivated some of the beautiful colors & varieties you show.

Wild tiger lillies etc would take over whole hillsides, entire fencerows, etc. A few lillies are good, but when there are hundreds it's just overwhelming.

Anyway, thanks for the good memories.

  4. TB: What a nice site you have here. It is a treat to the eyes to see your beautiful lilies. It's great to have more then one hobby specially in the dog days of summer.

Your turk's cap looks great. That's my Dad's favorite.

  6. I love lilies, too. It doesn't really matter if you know their names... "Hi Gorgeous!" and etc., works for me, too! ;-) (I do have fun labeling, when I remember to, though!)
