Minnesota In The Fall (updated)

This time of the year I'm reminded every day how Bluff Country in particular and Minnesota in general can be spectacular. Bluff Country is the name we attach to the unglaciated portion of southeastern Minnesota. Having been missed by the glaciers, that flattened and scoured out the many lakes of our state, the topography has been bisected, by its many streams, into deep valleys. Southwestern Wisconsin and northeastern Iowa have a similar landscape. For the fisherman, it's trout stream country with very few lakes. In the fall it comes alive with color. Take a look,,,,, With thanks to my all time favorite.... John Denver
Almost Heaven, Minnesota
Golden Prairies

Blue Green Forests
Father Of Waters
Life is Great here
Older than the valleys
Younger than

Fresher than a breeze.

And may your "Country Roads" be just as beautiful as we enjoy our fall season here in Bluff Country

  3. Spectacular. My blogging friend Dave at The Home Garden does a fall color meme. It attracts a lot of traffic from all over the world. You might link this post with him as it surely shows fall color.

  4. Gorgeous pictures! Did you get some fishing in? My Dad left Minnesota to join the Marines when he was 17 and stayed in California (I guess he couldn't stand the winter there), but as a kid, I got to visit relatives near St. Paul and I remember marvelling at all the lakes and water we didn't have in Southern California. Now we have my husband's daughter and grandchildren in Chaska so we get to see Minnesota every few years, but we will have to come in the fall as that is one season we've not seen in Minesota. Fall isn't staying very long here in New Mexico, had our first snow last night!

  25. Beautiful scenery!

Last Friday, Eric and I took a road trip down I-65 to Indianapolis. The trees were all green. When we came back on Sunday, the scenery changed over night...fall had fallen...all the trees were on fire! The colors were so vivid - oranges, reds, ambers, yellows, scarlett - just came alive in a day.
