Dreaming of a White Christmas

We haven't had a lot of snow in recent years over the holiday season. Actually I've been dreaming of a white Christmas lately. Looking out the bedroom window this morning ..... Good Grief!

  1. I hope everyone up in your North Country takes the day off and goes cross country skiing! I would. I used to love it, but there is no skiing of any sort in Nashville-

Indeed in about 4 weeks the daffodil leaves will start to show. Blink your eyes and the Southern winter is over-

  2. What a pretty scene, but it looks so cold. We've been getting some of the same here. We so need it as we've been in a drought. Stay warm, TB!

  3. Our snow usually stays up in the High Country where it belongs, but we do get the occasional snowfall here in Bellingham at sea level. Your snow is quite lovely, so you are getting your wish, and then some! :-)

  4. Looks wonderful! (But then, I don't have to be part of Team Troutbirder, clearing if off....) I won't ask that this snow stick around until Christmas for you, because it would hardly be white by then, but I will wish you a White Christmas when the day arrives!

  5. It looks absolutely lovely from here in North Florida, TB. It reminds me of growing up in western Michigan with its beautiful December snowfalls. I think I would find northern winters too cold and long now that I am growing older. However, I still like living in an area that has distinct seasons and some cold weather, even some freezes in the winter.

  10. Dreams really do come true! yikes! I'm grateful for no substantial snowfall yet. December 1st we had a dusting but lately we've been enjoying mild temps.

  12. Yes, that white stuff is snow. I hope you work with moderation to remove it as it can get to be a lot of work. Great shots. Our one dog loves the snow and will run and roll in it with shear joy.

  14. As they say..."be careful what you pray for" ... but I'd say that you and your team mate don't seem to mind at all. A lovely picture ! I enjoy reading your take on the books you read too.

  20. Hmmm...yup....this all looks sadly very familiar. I think snow is only good for penguins and polar bears... ;)

    Stay warm my friend!

  25. Hi there Troutbirder!

Now I am surprised to see all this snow where you are. Bluff Country, Minniesnowda! Might that be the Stillwater area you are speaking of when you talk bluff country?

I would rather have deep snow than the puney amount that we have. Snow is a good insulator and makes it easier to heat your house and I'm ALL for that.

    Cheers and enjoy the cleanup!

  26. We just got about an inch and a half last night, the first of the season.

It's pretty, and thankfully, I don't have to shovel anything (or use the snowblower).

I did fire up the snowblower last month and am happy to report it works.
