  1. Beautiful! From the looks of his ears, that rabbit looks like he could fly!

  2. Was that one of those hard-to-find jackalopes in front of the cacti?

All the better to hear you, my dear.

  5. It looks like a beautiful area even if it is in the desert. I had to look twice to see those rabbit ears.

  7. Very beautiful place. I love cacti. And a Burrowing Owl! Is that a Black-tailed or Antelope Jackrabbit? Great pix.

  11. That cute little bird is banded. I wonder where he's lived before the desert?

  12. I noticed the bird jewelry also. That bird had some 'splaining to do when he got home.

I just visited New Mexico, just trying to get pics like this. And failing. My fault, not the state's...

  14. You've gotten some wonderful pictures. That jack rabbit is something else, although I really like the barrel cactus.

  18. Kia ora TB,
Being a big fan of Edward Abbey these places strike a chord as well. Just read a story in the Mpls. paper about a couple guys deer hunting by canoe. Very cool.
    Cheers,
    Robb

  20. Gorgeous photos! I do love desert wildflowers. My son lives in New Mexico and we saw the spring wildflowers. Lovely.

  21. Hope you can visit them this winter!

  22. I LOVE the desert. We were never exposed to it until the past few years. Now, we love it so much, we make that trek from Chicago to Palm Springs, CA every March. Well...except for this year when the trip was cancelled due to Covid. I really hope we get back next year. I miss the blooming Joshua Tree National Park.

  23. Were these from around the Tuscon area? I visited Flagstaff last year and explored all around it. I would have liked to visit southern AZ, too, but I have a strong aversion to big cities. One day my desire to see the saguaros will make me risk going near Tuscon, but not yet!
