Winter Arrived Last Night

As I stepped outside, this somewhat cold and dreary morning, winter had arrived on Oak Hill overnight. Greetings winter! I'll let Baron outside to romp. My own snow romping days are over. But content, I'll start up the snow blower to clear the driveway. Go back inside for some hot chocolate. And watch the bird feeders from my easy chair while starting a new book. Each season to its own rhythms here in the northland.

I grew up in North Dakota and I do miss a regular winter...sometimes!

Beautiful! I love to hear about the bird feeders, too. It's really just right. We haven't had any snow down here in the Low Country, but plenty up High.

Snowy indeed. It is beautiful, but I really don't do snow anymore. I'm grateful we live where we don't get much of it. It sounds like you have a plan for such days, and it seems to work for you. I envy that reclusive part of being in after a snow storm and just enjoying a book.

It is indeed beautiful and I sincerely hope it stays up there where it belongs. I like your plans for the day!

It looks like winter wonderland! Very serene. Nice series of photos. We don't have that much snow here yet.

Ha! You got winter! We were spared yet again..just a skiff on the ground. Yes the daily activities change with the snow..and the dark days:)

Can't say that I miss the stuff at all. Still, it is pretty. Stay warm!

I do not think you should stop romping in the snow.No one is ever too old to have a little fun.

Oh yeah! Winter snow! We are getting it big time here in New Mexico today. 15 inches and still falling. 13 degrees this morning and it's expected to get colder. Glad I have plenty of wood and a warm stove with a good book and cup of tea or cocoa, it's all good!

Ah, good thing you already had your porch decked out with holiday bows! Looks absolutely beautiful, and it's so nice you can enjoy it (as opposed to having to get into your car and slog through it to get to work in the morning!!)

The snow is pretty. Glad you have it instead of us. Our weather is all rain. I like how you worded it about the rhythms of the season. It's so true.

I'm with TexWisGirl on this one...and having grown up in Alaska; this is beautiful but I'll just enjoy the pictures!

Winter sure made a beautiful arrival at your home. But no matter how beautiful it is, I hope it waits before arriving down here. Enjoy your hot chocolate and easy chair.

Lovely snow pics--I'm looking forward to some winter. Big shock for you and MrsT, though, after that warm weather in the SW?

Wow--so beautiful! Still no lasting snow here in Madison. Getting a bit tired of the gray and cold. Your photos almost make me look forward to winter!

Sorry I had to send it your way, but 8 inches was enough! :)

No snow here in Indiana, but your winter wonderland up there looks magical!

Take it easy on the back...don't lift heavy snow.

Wow! Snow is due tonight for us too but right now it’s raining on green grass. Your photos are gorgeous.

I love it when nature does its "painting" as I call it. Very few things prettier...as long as you don't slip taking the shots.
