Sung by the now immortal Pete Seeger. God rest his soul....
And yes we did hike along the Suwannee River. It was not far from our haven at Cedar Key. What a fun day it was.
We followed the boardwalk down to the river. There were lots of birds round and about but no manatees on this particular day.
Seeing a manatee is on my bucket list.
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful blue skies!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Trout. I love your header, too.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty there!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice WARM walk yet you have a jacket on:)
ReplyDeleteAwesome new header! A beautiful winter scene.
ReplyDeleteLove those nature walks and swimming with, but not close to, the manatees holds good memories of a Crystal River, Fla. trip.
ReplyDeleteLooks like home to me!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!!
Seegar spoke to our portion of our generation, TB.
ReplyDeleteNice pics, nice place. Except I hear dueling banjo's when I look at pics like that.
Looks like the weather was a whole lot better on the Suwannee than it was in your header photo!
ReplyDeleteIf it was cool enough to wear a jacket, probably too cool for the Manatees. Love those gentle beasts and the babies are adorable.
ReplyDeletegonna miss Florida, funny how you don't miss something as much till you're gone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Always happy to cheer the good luck of a German Shepherd Dog. I am so happy for all of you that Lily has a good home to retire in; she looks like a lovely girl. The photos in this post look like a beautiful place for a walk, especially for a bird watcher. Glad your vacation went well. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. I can hear the song in my head before I even play it. Yes, rest in peace, Pete. :-)

ReplyDeleteI really like the third photo, with the boardwalk lined by trees covered in Spanish moss and the shadows of the side rails.
