I got the boat out of storage and put it in the garage the other day. Today, it's raining and cold again. I put this guy on my computer wallpaper as a reminder to get the boat cleaned up and ready to go. It's fishing opener in a couple of weeks for Minnesota's inland ten thousand+ lakes.
P.S. That's a Big Mantrap lake northern. Baron tried to lick him before he was released. Not a safe idea. :) I'll be back there next fall.
I'm sure you'll be out boating and fishing soon!
ReplyDeleteHey, what a great idea to keep you motivated. It will be fun to hear how the fishing is going once you get out there. Congratulations on getting published in the magazine Minnesota Birding. Don't worry about exposing yourself with such a personal blog. I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent area you live in to enjoy fishing. My nephew lives there and freezes in the Winter but certainly enjoys the summer!
ReplyDeleteCleaning the boat doesn't sound like fun -- but I guess there's always some prep to having a little fun in the water. :)
ReplyDeleteWith the kind of teeth a Northern has, I'm surprised it didn't try to lick Baron, or worse!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fish to get the fishing fever going.I would enjoy catching a few of these, I have some of my Dads lures he used for them.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in ND fishing/boating with my dad and he caught many a northern!
ReplyDeleteIf this doesn't get you motivated to get the boat ready to go, I don't know what will. Hopefully the rain will stop and temperatures will rise in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fish!
ReplyDeleteOkay Ray - I posted about the St. Nicholas chapel you told me about located at Westminster Abbey - and linked back to you!!
I really appreciate the info! So timely too!
Thanks and have a great day!
Ann
I could buy ya a cup of coffee when you get up to the Mantrap Chain of lakes to fish! The ice may be out of the lakes today..yesterday the smaller lakes were clear..I can hear the Loon today..you may still need Long John for opener:)
ReplyDeleteNice Crappie!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby got out the fishing gear last week to get the reels re-strung with new line at the local sport shop.
Looking forward to a good fishing year.
Hooray for fishing season! I love the photograph.
