Oops! Spring? Apparently not.....
Lily takes a quick romp around the front yard to check out the situation.
Mrs. T. arrives on the scene and quickly takes charge. We all head out on to the circle drive through our neighborhood but it's not good. There's a sheet of ice underneath four inches of snow on the black top. Too dangerous.
Plan B. We load Lily into the back of my pickup and take the short trip into town to Willow Creek park.
Spring in Bluff Country. No wildflowers up yet but we did see a Lily. You gotta love it!
lily's the most gleeful bud of all! :)
ReplyDeleteYa gotta find something positive to keep yourself going.
ReplyDeleteLily is a gorgeous dog.
ReplyDeleteSnow on April 4...that's just wrong!
ReplyDeleteWell, you got out and that's more than I would have done! I can't see you, but Lily and Mrs. T don't seem to mind that frigid weather too much. Hope you have some Spring, soon!
ReplyDeleteLily is blooming with you and Mrs T, hee hee!
ReplyDeleteShe is SUCH a good dog, you can just tell from those pictures. You are all lucky to be together, and one day spring will come to join the rest of the country. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes you have a Lily! looks like she is a happy gal too, enjoy your snow. Snow on the ice is horrid...stay safe! :)
ReplyDeleteWe're still drowning in snow as well, but temps are predicted to hit the fifties next week, so that's encouraging.
ReplyDeleteAnd you really need to check out those Stabilicers --they easily slip on the shoes and the cleats really dig into the ice. Hubby and I have been walking all spring on our icy roads without a problem. Check amazon--they are well worth the money!
Lily looks as she could play there all day. I almost feel guilty that I haven't seen any white stuff yet but how well I remember the outings with my dog in thick snow ... and loving it.
ReplyDeleteWe're in melt mode after lots of rain. My grand puppy still prefers going on snow than grass! Lily is a sure sign of spring hope.
ReplyDeleteLove your clever sense of humor: Seeing a "Lily". I'll be smiling all day about that one. She's beautiful. Our spring's has trouble breaking through here as well. 27 degrees this morning, but at least no snow anymore.
ReplyDeleteSpring can't be too far off now. In the meantime, I can't imagine a better Lily to cheer you.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, TB. Still have a foot in my front yard, though it did hit 45 here the other day. We regularly get snow in May, so nobody is holding their breath.
ReplyDeleteWe still have snow here (up north) but its supposed to hit the 50s this weekend and that will take quite a bit of it. Lets hope so, anyway!
ReplyDeleteLily is a beautiful girl and I am so glad you got together.
Cheers and hugs,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Green grass here in SE IA
ReplyDeleteWhat a time, eh? Oddly enough, we got rain, which took away some of the snow. A little north of us, they got snow.
ReplyDeleteLove Mrs. T and Lilys smile ~ they see very happy to have found one another . SO glad you have a dog back in your life !
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the news about what was hitting your area I thought 'Oh the poor TB's' but looks like with the help of Lily you are making the best of it.
ReplyDeleteShe really is a pretty dog. Soooo happy you have each other.
Hang tough, TB'ers, I know spring is coming to the North Country soon. And before you know it, the flies and 'skeeters will be upon you and you'll be longing for cooler and less buggy days! Oh. well, we can't have it all.Best wishes for a thaw!
ReplyDeleteLily doesn't seem to mind the lack of springlike weather. We still have lots of snow here in Vermont, too, but it looks like you have more. Were finally getting so e melting - so time to prepare for mud.
ReplyDeleteAnd a lovely Lily it was. Better be careful, Troutbirder. It's looking more and more like Ms. T is taking over your fishing pal.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like January there. Here it is just cold and mostly rainy. Someone needs to tell the weather it's supposed to be Spring already!
ReplyDeleteI miss having a dog. Don't miss the snow, though.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good day. Lily, so pretty.
oh it has been a long winter! she's a love! good for you for getting out in the snow anyway!
ReplyDeleteLily seems to enjoy the snow. She looks like a happy pup, very content with her people.
ReplyDeleteI love the name of your dog -- reminds me of a Lily I once had. Shepards are so loyal and beautiful. I imagine she is already devoted to you and Mrs. T! -- barbara
ReplyDeleteI do love the females in your life. xo
