It is with great sadness that I must pass on the news that
Baron our beloved GSD had to be put down yesterday. Baron persevered for almost eight years in
spite of malformed elbow joints in the front legs and chronic arthritis. All
that knew him saw a gentle giant whose passions were to romp in the woods and
have his ears scratched. He had admirers everyplace he went including the
internet. With tears I can only write “R.I.P.
my best buddy.”
So sorry to hear this devastating news. My heart aches for you. Sending you lots of hugs!

Your friends,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. These critters become a major part of our life and it's hard to let them go. My daughter put down her 14 year old schnauzer last month. It was hard.
ReplyDeleteI am devastated by the news.....I loved that beautiful dog even tho I never actually met him. I know he had a great life with you, but my heart goes out to you knowing how much you will miss him. Sending love and wishes for your heart to heal .

So very sad for you and the Mrs. It's so hard losing such a good friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a loss is not easy. After all, our animals are so much like our children.
ReplyDeleteOh that's so sad! I'm so sorry to hear this. He was such a great companion to you. I enjoyed all your posts involving him....Good night sweet prince.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry. He was a fine companion and I'm sure he will be greatly missed. You were very lucky to have such great times together.
ReplyDeleteI believe you mentioned Baron in your very first comment when you welcomed me to blogging. If not the first it was shortly thereafter. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw the update. I am so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your loss of Barron. I recently started following your blog and thought how cool to have such a hiking companion. With time your heart will heal but you will always have Barron's noble spirit with you. Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry to hear this. He was an extraordinary dog. Condolences on your loss.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this. I've always enjoyed reading about Baron's adventures, and how loved he was. It's a difficult thing that dog years are so short. As I look at our own McGee and how he has gone from pup to adult dog so quickly, it's hard to think of the kids having to say goodbye to him down the road. Baron was sure lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteRIP good friend Baron. He was such a good companion, you and Mrs T must be hurting so very much. BUT I am certain you did the right thing..hard, hard decisions to make when you are a pet owner and animal lover.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathy, he left many paw prints all over especially on your blog readers hearts..sending a hug for you:(
Sorry TB. He seemed a fine, fine dog.
ReplyDeleteSad to happen. I like pets very well
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry to hear you have lost your best friend. Godspeed, dear Baron.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the loss of your awesome companion.
ReplyDeleteI know how much joy Baron brought to you, and I pray for you, TB.
ReplyDeleteAw TB I am so very sorry. I know he was way more than a pet to you. He was a great companion and a true friend. It just makes the heart hurt.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Baron. What a beautiful and sweet dog. His puppy photos are charming and what a moose he grew into! Sending you comforting thoughts via the internet.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so sorry for your loss of Baron he was very blessed to have such a caring loving soul to share this world with. RIP Baron. B

Please know so many of us understand your grief. Prayers and blessings to you.
I'm so sorry, Troutbirder. My dog, too, is getting up there in years (12). Lots of pain from arthritis. It breaks my heart.

ReplyDeleteWhat sorrow it is to lose such a loyal companion. As an owner of a large dog with whom I have a great bond. I know of your sense of loss. Even now I anticipate the loss of my dog for they do not live very long. She is still in good health but I fear the day I will not have her anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. I know you'll miss him.
ReplyDeleteI am so so so sorry. My heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteCherish all the time you have had with Baron.
Taylor and I send our warmest good wishes to you.

I just read your post about Baron's passing. I'm very sorry for your loss. He obviously was a real gem.
ReplyDeleteoh I so feel your pain. I just buried 2 little boys this spring. OK, they were cats, but they were like shadows- one followed me everywhere outside, one was in my lap all the time in the house... Rascal was 9, Punkin 15. Both love bugs.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry - I know how it hurts.
My condolences on the loss of your lovely friend.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm so sorry about this, I am behind in blog reading so am just catching up on yours and even though this happened a few weeks ago I imagine your pain is still raw. As he was a great companion and friend to you, you were a great and kind leader and companion to him as well, right to the end. Again, sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm SO sorry. I can only say, I know what it's like, I've been through it with several beloved furry friends, or really I should say, family members. You must be reeling. May you find solace knowing that he is in no pain now. My heart is with you and Mrs. T and even Simba.
ReplyDeleteI read with great sadness the comment you left about losing Baron. I am sending my belated condolences. It is so hard to have to put down a beloved pet like Baron. He was a beauty, and a lover too.
ReplyDeleteWe had to put down our beloved Buster, a golden retriever, just three days after the death of my daughter Julie. It was quite a shock when he collapsed and we learned he had cancer. It seemed like sadness on top of sadness and more than we could bear. A dog can not be compared to a child, but those dogs sure do fill in a gap after the loss of a child. Hold on to the beautiful memories that you have of this dearly loved companion.
Oh my... as you realized I have been away from blogging for quite some time. One of the first things I did was to look for Baron. When I didn't see him a few days ago on current posts, I started to have those terrible nagging feelings... I went looking for him...and found this post... I am just so so sorry... you know how much I adored him. My heart just goes out to you... he was a magnificent dog and I feel certain that his will be one of those cold noses that will greet us all at the pearly gates...
ReplyDeleteMy belated condolences to you and your whole family. I'm so sorry I didn't realize at the time...
With an understanding heart in how hard it is to loose a canine member of the family and much love,
Ann
