Sebastian Florida

This week the Troutbirders find themselves finally enjoying some eighty degree weather in Sebastian, Florida on the Atlantic coast.  A highlight so far was a visit to Merritt  Island, location of a wonderful National Wildlife Refuge, and the Kennedy Space Center. I can't wait to get the pictures organized and tell the stories.  Next week it's off to visit some friends in Tennessee and then home to snowy Minnesota.  Remembering when all is said and done "there is no place like home...."

  3. You're truly fortunate to be there instead of Minnesota at this time. My daughter in Chaska said the wind is blowing hard and it the temp is sub-zero - supposedly minus 47 with the wind chill. Everyone is holed up in their homes, no school. Now she's talking about moving here to New Mexico (wow, that would be wonderful). Enjoy your lovely time in Florida and have a safe journey home.

  5. The good part for you is that there will still be some winter left for you to "appreciate" when you get home. :)

  6. Don't go home too soon -- the Polar Vortex is back! Oh how I long to feel 80 degrees. Heck even, 50 degrees.

  9. It's cold in Alabama! Nothing like the temps elsewhere but certainly uncomfortable outside. I didn't bother putting on a coat to carry the garbage off because the sun was out and looked warm. Ha! I regretted that.

  15. You're right, there's no place like home, but wouldn't it be great if we could organise our own weather. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your travels.

  19. There is no place like home no matter where it is -- unless it is in the ice and cold of winter driving to work. -- barbara
