Eulogy

She was a good old gal & served Troutbirder well these many years. Now she is in the computer hospital in Cresco Iowa. I wait anxiously  for news of her recovery or demise. Here at home her younger sister, the laptop, really leaves me mostly helpless except  for reading the morning paper & emails.  A jumpy cursor and hunt & peck won't work for blogging. I may have to recycle some old posts in the meantime. Patience is a virtue of which I'm in short supply of.......Still in the immortal words of General Douglas MacArthur "I shall return.".....:)

  2. Cresco , Iowa? I was there several times over the past 6 months looking for houses. My gosh. Small world.
Hope all is "fixable". We get attached to these Windows to the World!

  4. Best of luck with your computer. I don't like laptops much myself.

  5. My condolences... I'm thankful for a recently bought and brand new PC, although nothing is sacred in the computer world.

  6. I have found if they are older it is better to replace for bigger and better. I just got a new one, with a touch screen,#16 for me.

  8. Hope she can be saved. Laptops aren't so bad though. I use mine exclusively now.

  10. I can relate but I too now just use a laptop and eventually even gave up the mouse when I became more adept at the touch pad. I know a guy who only uses his cell phone. I can imagine it. I use mine more and more. It's very handy to have a computer in your pocket at all times.

  11. I had one die this year. At 5 or 6 they are getting old, particularly if you keep up with some high-powered apps like I do with Photoshop etc.

  13. Phew! I'm relieved it may just be a temporary hiatus. My blog has been at a frozen stand still for a while. Hope you're back at it soon.

  14. My condolences for your loss - but there are other computers in the world, and after you grieve properly, maybe you will open your heart to another one...
