A Regular Customer

He and his family are regular, and I might add voracious, visitors at my bird feeders.

"Hey Troutbirder! Supplies are looking rather low here today. I expect better service than this. Now get on it!"

  1. Surprisingly, we have no squirrels. Nada. But we do have the occasional raccoon that visits our feeder (we have that same feeder, btw). They tend to rip apart the feeder to get what they want -- so maybe count your blessings? :) I agree with Lynne -- the 2nd photo is priceless!

  2. I used to worry about them cleaning me out, but just bought more food. I hook an ear of corn on a lag bolt attached to a limb with wire.Have 3 stations of these for them to eat.

  3. I love the nonchalant pose in the second photo--he looks like a real character. Your previous post is inspiring, TB--soooo glad to hear that your sweetie is biking again. Your account is a testament both to her strength through it all and to your support and love for her. Wonderful!

  8. I think some of his relatives live down here in Tennessee. The attitude looks very familiar. That second picture is priceless.

  9. Those kinds of "regular customers" here have often found themselves in the stew pot.

  10. Just a side note about squirrels--turns out the ones in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (with Johny Depp) were the real deal, trained to sit on the stools & work the props etc.
