Two Beauties

Two beauties indeed. The gal holding a flower is an original. My guardian angel and beautiful daughter-in-law Deanne. The Amaryllis is a new color I invented by accident. I always bring my  dozens of bulbs of that flower into the basement to rest in winter. In a dark room actually. This particular Amaryllis supposed to be bright red. Going in to the dark basement room I found it had sprouted without my permission into gorgeous white and pink color. Amazing. Two beauties indeed.
As this post indicates after much ado my computer guru finally enabled me to enter my own blog. I don't think that means that Google and Yahoo settled their war but Brian finally got me back in. So Troutbirder and Troutbirder II are finally back online. At least that's one hobby I haven't had to give up because of physical disabilities, mainly vertigo and essential tremors which made it almost impossible to type except for the Dragon. :-)

  1. That's a hugely beautiful amaryllis flower! As for your computer guru rescue, cross your fingers for me, now, that my guru can work similar magic for me come Monday!

  2. At the best of times a guy doesn't need blog problems. I'm happy they found things again.

  3. The flowers are beautiful. Probably nicer than red. Re the computer, I don't know what I would do if mine packed up.

  4. I didn't realize (or had forgotten because the Dragon part seems familiar) that you were suffering so much from ailments. I hope Dragon continues to work for you. Congrats on the flower.

  6. Yes two beauties for sure! I am sorry to hear about your tremors, I knew about the vertigo. Make sure you have your cell phone in your pocket when you go outside. Take good care of you!

  7. So sorry to hear about your problems health wise. Vertigo is a bear. Your DIL is so pretty and so it the color of Amaryllis you created. Does that mean you get to name it?
Take care Ray and be well.

  9. Wow! that is a beautiful amaryllis! Especially the accidental color. Pretty daughter-in-law, too. I’m glad you are able to get back to blogging.

  10. You have a magic touch with those flowers. I looked and thought I should have one this year but didn't get it. A friends grandfather had one that put out 20 blooms it was so well cared for.

  11. Take good care of yourself. I've had an amaryllis every year for as long as I can remember. Now, after they bloom around Christmas, I plant them in my garden. I was out there today and saw them coming up. They'll bloom again this spring. Except there is that freezing cold front coming in next week...

  16. Ugh--health issues are bad enough, but now add in the computer/blog problems?? Enough to drive you crazy. I have read of a couple of people having issues with their blogs lately--wonder what is going on. Back up your blog NOW!

I love that you had that lovely surprise waiting for you. Sometimes it is the little things that make us most happy. That is an incredible color!!

  17. Beautiful indeed, and I think we need to make that three. Include yourself. You are a special guy. Sorry to hear you are getting physical problems now too. This old age thing is great in the early stage but once true decline sets in, not so much!
