"Well you see Norm, it's like this . . . A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the
slowest buffalo; and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest
ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the
herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps
improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way,
the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we
know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks
the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of
beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more
efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few
beers.'

And so in search of being smarter, we (center left to right, Mary, Mrs. T and cousin Joe) pilgrimaged to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. There we toured the fount of my favorite lager. That would be Leinenkugels Honey Weisse. A few days later Baron and I prepare to head out for our morning hike. You might notice me wearing my new "Leinies" hat from Chippewa Falls.....
We have an eatery in a nearby town called Northwoods. It has the decor of a giant ski lodge/log cabin. I tasted my first Leinenkugel last summer.
ReplyDeleteleinenkugels! haven't heard that in a long time!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I'm glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLove that explanation!
ReplyDeleteI need to develop a taste for beer, to eliminate my weaker brain cells. Wait... all my brain cells are weak, I'd be left with nothing!
Thank you for the explanation of why a few beers make me feel smarter. I like your new hat.
ReplyDeleteYup - love that buffalo story from Cheers. It's a classic! You and pup both look very dapper! :)

HaHa....love it. Last photo is terrific! Baron is quite at attention !!
ReplyDeleteJust one more solid reason to drink beer! Gotta love Cliff Claven's thought process.
ReplyDeleteYou're always going to the places I want to see! Beer, now that's good stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou and Baron are looking great! I have never tried that beer although the name intrigues me. My brother insists that a Brew only available in Minnesota called Kayak Kolsch takes care of his painful knees (Old football injuries)..perhaps it works doubly good on brain cells:)
ReplyDeleteGotta love Norm! We love our Belgian wheats here too. I knew there was a reason we were friends!
ReplyDeleteNice man, can see it in his nice dog, his photographs.
