Prairie Trail

The big guy (Baron) and I average a several mile hike at least every other day in spring, summer and fall. Occasionally we are joined by Mrs. T. Here is one we took in August. The small woodland   sunflowers   were spectacular. Baron, of course likes to investigate everything. Especially a hole in the ground with interesting smells

  3. Those sunflowers evoke August, all right. And now that we are well into October, the season is only a memory. :-)

That frog in the mouth photo makes me cringe and want to hurl at the same time! Gross! LOL!

  7. I'm right there with you! I love my walks. Your area kind of reminds me of Germany-wide open. I know Baron loves those walks!

  8. The prairies in Iowa did not fair well this year as the drought didn't encourage flowering plants to put out any blooms. Your praire is a neat to see.

  14. What a lovely place to walk! You can't help but smile when you see those cheerful looking flowers.

You know my affinity for hiking. Well, I'd forgotten that early October is too early for hiking in the S. Illinois woods, even though the weather was cool. We came home to Florida covered in chigger bites.
