Being an early riser I spotted this coyote hunting jackrabbits on the golf course where we were staying in Arizona.
At a big cat refuge in Colorado
Is this the one that sells car insurance?
At the Phoenix zoo with two of our grandchildren to the right.
I darn near ran over this groundhog on a local bike trail. He was busy forecasting the weather and didn't notice me.
Baron chased this crew of bird feeder raiders up a tree in our woods.
Sabrina was about twice as big as Baron. They met in puppy school.
Rajah a white tiger in Colorado.
As a follow up to this post next I'll describe a frightening moment in my short lived big predator cat photography career. The title might well be "Troutbirder gets the #$%& scared out of him...."
laughing at your lead-in story. :)
ReplyDeletelove the raccoons treed. have seen a few of those images myself. :)
Fun pair of posts.I see the coyotes around here, but they are allusive.
ReplyDeleteOkay the suspense is killing me. You have some great animal shots! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next post. We were just informed by the neighborhood association that we have a cougar in the neighborhood (and I'm not talking abut a woman of a certain age and proclivity) so now I am less than confident about my solo hikes in the back hills.
ReplyDeleteWhat a teaser, Troutbirder!
ReplyDeleteI'll tune in, thats for sure.
Cheers,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
How is Lily doing?
Hi There, We are home from George's fabulous birthday trip. I will blog about it tomorrow. It was truly a trip we will be talking about for a VERY long time!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read what scared you so much!!!! I definitely got scared this past week--trying to walk on ICE... Not easy--and truly scary in places!
Good selection of your critters.
Hugs,
Betsy
Cute shot of the raccoons, and Sabrina looks like a charmer. A mastiff? Your teaser definitely sparked my interest. I'll be checking back for the rest of the story.
ReplyDeleteLoved the photographs. I've never seen a groundhog IN the road, always politely on the side.
ReplyDeleteYou've experienced quite a variety of wildlife!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your tiger post!
This is some menagerie!
ReplyDeleteWow that groundhog saw a passel of shadows. And speaking of passels, that describes those raccoons.
ReplyDeleteGot to love giraffes. Will be back for the cliff hanger.
A great menagerie. Interesting to see the coyote on the golf course.
ReplyDeleteI have been to the same refuge in Colorado. Quite an interesting place.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next installment :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE Sabrina!!!
I've never seen a groundhog so enlarged the picture for a better look.
ReplyDeleteSabrina is a fine dog.
Some nice looks at the animals. Can't wait to hear your 'Frightening" story!
ReplyDeleteSuch great pictures. Those are some BIG cats, so I look forward to hearing your story. :-)
ReplyDeleteJoined your site so I can read what scared the &*^+ out of you. Like your photos and thanks for your words on my blog. Paula from south Texas
ReplyDeleteOh geesh- did ya get too close? LOL Gotta be careful around those big cats!
ReplyDeleteYour next post about the tiger is available on Reader (this happens sometimes). What a moment!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great menagerie! And your sense of humor made me laugh! I happened to keep scrolling and am very curious about the bear photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat comment on the ground hog! He really does look like he is thinking about the weather, what bike trail is that? It looks nice and clear, ours is still somewhat clogged with ice although they plow ours so it is passable all winter, just "messy". Loved all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteSabrina must have been a HUGE dog as Baron was so large. I find animals marvelous. Like to note their behaviors. You have a mighty fine collection -- I bet your grandchildren are gaining a great appreciation of animals as they tag along on some of your journeys. -- barbara
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the menagerie!
